Paris, the City of Lights, is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world. With its charming streets, world-class museums, and delicious food, it’s easy to see why. If you’re planning a trip to Paris, here’s how to make the most of a long weekend in the city.

Eiffel Tower

The first thing you’ll want to do is visit the iconic Eiffel Tower. This 134-year-old landmark is a must-see for anyone visiting Paris. Take the elevator or climb the stairs to the top for a breathtaking view of the city. If you’re visiting during the evening, be sure to stick around for the light show that takes place every hour on the hour.

Louvre Museum

Next, head to the Louvre Museum, one of the most famous museums in the world. The Louvre is home to thousands of pieces of art, including the Mona Lisa and early Greek sculptures.  Be sure to plan ahead and purchase tickets online to avoid long lines. Plan your visit for an entire day if possible. If you’re short on time, consider taking a guided tour to make the most of your day.

Ancient Architecture

No trip to Paris would be complete without a stroll along the Seine River. Take a romantic boat tour, or simply walk along the banks to take in the sights and sounds of the city. Be sure to stop by Notre-Dame Cathedral, a masterpiece of Gothic architecture. Due to reopen in 2024, after the devasting fire, the exterior is still a great spot for Paris photos.

Finally, no trip to Paris would be complete without indulging in some of its delicious food. Enjoy a croissant or pain au chocolate for breakfast at a local café. For dinner, be sure to try some traditional French dishes such as escargots, coq au vin, or bouillabaisse. My first taste of escargots was surprisingly delicious, and buttery enjoyed from streetside café.

Overall, Paris is a city that offers something for everyone. With its rich history, stunning architecture, delicious food, and romantic atmosphere. It’s no wonder it’s one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world. With a bit of planning and willingness to explore, you can make the most of your three days in Paris.
